Cal:From my point of view; to make the meeting feel really safe and welcoming…I always smile. I say everyone’s first names as they’re entering the room – so that it feels really personal and I look right at the camera, not at the screen.What do you do Leash?
Leasha:
So, I like to do the same thing; I like to welcome everybody in.I like to stare right into the camera Lots of smiling and I just like to tell people that it’s a safe space.
Cal:
Yes I love that and then I guess another tip that I use is
- I quickly give, like, the ground rules of the club – so it’s, like, just explaining
- If your background’s noisy – make sure you hit mute.
- Turn your camera off, if someone’s in the background or if you’re moving around too much
– just so that everyone feels really safe.
Leasha:
Absolutely.
